While Design in Mind's foundation is our weekly volunteering in Cincinnati Public School art classrooms, we also look out to community partners for other opportunities to spread our mission.
Design workshops at Rothenberg Elementary School
Rothenberg Elementary School, one of our partnered elementary schools, approached us with the opportunity to build our own design-related curriculum to introduce students to basic design ideation and prototyping.
Evanston Summer Program
This past summer, Design in Mind volunteers led a design-focused summer program at Evanston Academy. The projects focused on a different creative discipline each week, from learning about urban planning by designing a park to learning about graphic design by designing their own pin buttons. The program culminated in a field trip to the Main Public Library's Makerspace where we made buttons from their designs.
Wilmington Pavilion Design Blitz
The Wilmington Public Schools contacted Design in Mind after hearing about the curriculum we have built with Rockdale and Rothenberg.
Indigo Hippo partnership
Indigo Hippo is a nonprofit art supply thrift store in Cincinnati that also offers art-related programs for kids. We have fostered a strong partnership with Indigo Hippo. As they have helped educate us on how to effectively build curriculum for kids, we have volunteered time to design and build better organization systems for their store.
