Rothenberg Design Workshop

In collaboration with Mrs. Green of Rothenberg Elementary School, Design in Mind built our own design-centered workshop curriculum for a fifth grade art class. We introduced the students to basic concepts of design, including the ideation process, from perspective drawings to 3D prototypes.

After a short presentation on the design process and common prototyping technologies we use, including laser cutting and 3D printing, we gave the students sheets of watch templates for them to begin 2D ideation. As they settled upon final ideas, we gave them plain chipboard watch templates to design a physical, three dimensional prototype.
